Breathing Buildings Head To Glasgow With CIBSE Scotland

On 20th February 2018, Breathing Buildings’ Consulting Manager Dr Owen Connick, delivered a technical seminar on natural and hybrid ventilation to an audience of more than 30 interested professionals from CIBSE Scotland. Those in attendance included consultant engineers, city planning officials, architects and a wealth of M&E design engineers from Glasgow, Edinburgh and beyond.

The evening was hosted by the IET Glasgow, who also provided welcome food and refreshments on a cold, wintry evening.

The talk focussed on the concept of hybrid mixing ventilation – pioneered by Breathing Buildings over the last 12 years – and discussed upcoming changes to design guidelines and regulations, particularly in schools. During the very active discussion which followed the seminar, there was much debate about how this is likely to affect projects in Scotland.

The evening seemed to be highly successful and we hope it will initiate many future conversations about hybrid ventilation, how best to achieve thermal comfort and the range of other topics covered on the night.

Owen would like to thank all those who came along for making the effort to attend. Particular thanks go to Ingrid and Jeremy for coordinating the event, and to the IET Glasgow, who hosted us for the evening.
