Andrew Richardson - Consulting Engineer
Andrew joined E-Stack in 2008, having spent the earlier part of his career with British Leyland, Robert Bosch, Cummins Engines, GEC and Rolls-Royce. His experience spans diesel engines, gas turbines, lifts and escalators, material handling systems and underground locomotives for mines. He is a graduate of the University of Sheffield and a Fellow of the IMechE.
On helping clients: “Our aim is to become the expert in natural and low energy ventilation within the project design team, helping to minimise energy consumption and costs throughout the building’s life”.

Chris Finneral – Consulting Engineer
Chris started work at Breathing Buildings in 2009 after completing a four year degree in engineering at Cambridge University. In his final year of study he specialised in Environmental and Civil engineering where he developed a passion for low energy building design.
“Natural Ventilation has moved on a lot from “just open a window”. When designed well, naturally ventilated buildings can be comfortable throughout the year and use a fraction of the energy of their mechanical counterparts.”

David Hamlyn - Consulting Engineer
David joined Breathing Buildings in early 2007. During this time he has worked in product development, technical sales and project management. He also undertakes consultancy studies, looking at both existing and new build schemes. Prior to joining Breathing Buildings, David undertook a MEng degree followed by a PhD at the University of Cambridge. His thesis looked at wind flow and dispersion in urban areas, by means of CFD and analytical work carried out in Cambridge, and water flume experiments conducted in Vancouver, Canada. Pre-university, David worked at Martin-Baker Aircraft on ejection seat system simulation, and was the joint winner of the national Year in Industry "Contribution to the Business Award".
"We can help produce practical schemes for a really wide range of buildings, even those that on the face of it look challenging for natural ventilation."

Matthew Bray - Consulting Engineer
Matthew began working for Breathing Buildings in January 2010, after recently completing a PhD in Laser-assisted Cold Spray at the University of Cambridge. He has an engineering background, and has previously worked for Rolls-Royce and Rovtech Systems Ltd. He is from the Lake District and is renowned for making the worst tea in the office.
On helping clients: “The aim of our work is simple: help people realise how they can save energy and create a more pleasant environment for occupants through sensible management of heat and ventilation in their buildings”.
