Proposed casino would be green

If the casino goes ahead it will have an energy efficient design. A casino which has been proposed in the small town of Brimfield in Massachusetts will have green credentials should it get the go-ahead.

MGM want to build a resort which would be called Rolling Hills and if it were an energy efficient building the company hope it will be more popular with local residents.

Jim Murren, chairman and CEO of MGM, said: "We don't believe development should come at the cost of natural beauty."

There are a number of different sites which are being considered as locations for the casino with Brimfield just one of them.

Another development of MGM's, CityCenter, won a gold standard LEED accreditation in 2009 and with the new construction the company have announced its intentions to continue with its commitment to sustainability.

Mr Murren said: "The Pioneer Valley is home to some of the most beautiful land around – from the Quaboag Riverto the acres of pristine forest that define the countryside."

MGM has 15 resorts in Michigan, Nevada and Mississippi, which it owns and operates on a day-to-day basis.ADNFCR-3216-ID-801281170-ADNFCR
