A new Travelodge hotel which is to be built at Cheshire Oaks retail park is aiming to achieve excellent standard BREEAM accreditation.
The energy efficient building is to form the focal point for the redevelopment of the out of town shopping area.
It will cost £3 million to build and house 77 bedrooms across five floors and is to be just one of 146 new Travelodge hotels the chain wish to construct across the country.
The new hotel will open in July this year and is hoped to bring £1.2 million to the economy of the local area.
Tony O’Brien, UK development director for Travelodge Hotels, said: "We trade very well at other major shopping centres throughout the country, such as The Trafford Centre and Sheffield Meadowhall, and have long identified Cheshire Oaks as a destination where we would like a hotel."
Travelodge currently have 460 budget hotels at locations in the UK and Ireland and rooms start at £19 per night.
