Dr Shaun Fitzgerald
Chief Executive Officer
Shaun undertook his PhD at Cambridge University and then joined the faculty at Stanford. After 4 years at Bain & Co in London and further research at Cambridge he founded Breathing Buildings in 2006. He is the Royal Academy of Engineering Visiting Professor in Sustainable Buildings at Cambridge University and a Teaching Fellow at Girton College.
David joined Breathing Buildings in 2009, having completed his MBA at Cambridge University’s Judge Institute. Working at Breathing Buildings is a return to his roots for David, having studied Engineering at Durham as an undergraduate.
Richard joined Breathing Buildings in 2008. Since this time he has been heavily involved in Manufacturing, Work Place Safety, Project Delivery, On Site Activities, Product Development and Value Engineering throughout the business. He currently leads Operations and is accountable for all post order activities.
Huw joined the team in 2011. Since 1997, he has been designing and developing ventilation, filtration and evaporative air cooling systems for commercial, industrial and domestic building types. Prior to joining Breathing Buildings, Huw specialised specifically in the design of natural ventilation systems and the development of control strategies to ensure the systems operate at their maximum efficiency.
Dr Matthew Bray
Matthew began working for Breathing Buildings in 2010, after completing a PhD in Laser-assisted Cold Spray at the University of Cambridge. He has an engineering background, and has previously worked for Rolls-Royce and Rovtech Systems Ltd.
On helping clients: “The aim of our work is simple: help people realise how they can save energy and create a more pleasant environment for occupants through sensible management of heat and ventilation in their buildings”.
Dr Owen Connick
Owen joined Breathing Buildings as a Consulting Engineer in 2014. He now heads up the design and consultancy teams. After a first degree in Aerospace Engineering at Imperial College London, Owen stayed in academia and completed his PhD on the fluid mechanics of hybrid natural ventilation. Owen has presented at numerous CIBSE/ASHRAE seminars, and is keen on many aspects of sustainability in the built environment.
